The Purpose of
the Massachusetts Minority State
Police Officers' Association is to monitor, assist,
increase and evaluate:
- The recruitment, hiring, retention,
education, and promotion of minorities into the Department
of State Police.
- The departmental implementation and
adherence to all statutes, regulations, executive orders,
state, and federal affirmative action and non-discrimination
policies, based on race, sex, age, and national origin.
- The fair and equitable assignment
of minority officers to regular and specialty job positions.
- The acts, practices, unwritten policies,
procedures, and programs of the department affecting
minorities.
- The establishment of a working relationship
between the Department of State Police and the Corporation.
- The establishment of a working relationship
between the minority communities and schools with the
criminal justice system in conjunction with the Corporation.
- The fostering and encouraging of Corporation
members in educational, civic, charitable, and benevolent
activities and responsibilities.
- To facilitate the free flow of pertinent
criminal justice information to its membership
and the community at large.
- "To include Honorary and Associate
members."
